Listed below is a brief outline of the process of finding a nanny. However, every client is different so our service is tailored to meet your needs.

Each client is asked to complete our detailed registration form. One of us will then contact you to get a deeper understanding of your needs. We will also send you a 16 page booklet which explains everything from nanny qualifications to tax tables. In each case, we will ask you a number of questions which can range from the pressure/ variability of your jobs to what sort of hobbies you and your children enjoy - all will help narrow our search.

Once registered each job will be put onto our vacancy list, in its briefest form - no specifics mentioned, just general area, hours and ages of children. This listing is the fastest way we know of attracting candidates, and helps us speed up the process of searching our database.

As we find suitable candidates, we will contact you about them. We suggest that you have an initial chat with them on the phone and, if you like the sound of them, please ask them to see you for an interview. If you do not think they are suitable we will happily discuss the reasons and search again. We can post, fax or e-mail their CV and references, and you are free to check references for your own peace of mind. - you have access to all paperwork we hold on any candidate we suggest.

NB. During the interview stage many clients will find their initial ideas of the care they need, or the type of person they want to give that care, will change. Don't worry! Clarity of your specific needs often sharpens during the process, and we will happily modify our search criteria as needed.

Once you have found a suitable candidate we will guide you through the process of employing them. We will help with every aspect, from haggling over pay, to which nannies yours can contact in the area, to what specific duties you need included in the contract. We have a broad range of information which makes tying up all the loose ends extremely simple, and we will make sure both you and your nanny know exactly what you are entering into (and are happy about it!).

You and your nanny will then be fully prepared to enjoy the benefits of a good working relationship- happy and stimulated children, a calm and happy employee, and relaxed and reassured parents.

And it doesn't end there!

Rockinghorse has an enviable reputation in the industry for its after sales service. During the entire time you employ a Rockinghorse nanny we are available to ask any question relating to their employment. By this we mean practically anything - in the past we have been asked questions as diverse as "We are having our third child, providing accommodation and a car, and lengthening her hours - what should we pay her?", and "My Nanny has just dyed her hair purple and my daughter now wants to do the same - how do I approach her without causing offence?!" All are in a day's work for us, and if we don't know the answer we will find out and let you know.

After 13 years and literally thousands of nanny placements we have many hundreds of testimonial letters from both clients and nannies (provable if desired). Our promise to you is we will do as we say, when we say we will do it, and with both experience and enthusiasm.
